Filacheck’s Furniture—pleasing local customers for over three decades

Upon entering Filacheck’s Furniture, at 343 East Baltimore Pike in West Grove, it is evident you’re in a great store immediately when you are graciously greeted by the owner and staff, who then offer to help you find whatever you’re looking for.

It isn’t long before visitors are convinced that they’ve chosen the best option for selecting the finest furnishings, carpeting, or accents for their home.

That’s because, as storeowner Robert Donnell explains, besides offering the highest quality products at the most reasonable costs around, the Filacheck philosophy is centered around helping customers without pressuring them. After all, observed Donnell, more than 30 years of providing top quality and service to a growing customer base has taught him that people appreciate knowing that the professionals who are on hand to assist them with their choices are not only well-qualified experts in all aspects of furniture, they are also pleasant and very willing to accommodate individual needs for advice, décor consultation, and suggestions for styles based on one’s communicated preferences.

At Filacheck’s, the entire experience of browsing, learning more options, and deciding on best choices is a positive one. Folks love the beautifully converted 150 year-old bank barn, the perfect setting for a furniture store, in which Filacheck’s is situated.

Three large floors filled with everything from great carpets, beautiful living room and dining room pieces, and a plethora of fabrics (over 1300) and leather swatches (200 to pick from), to a terrific variety of bedroom pieces including mattresses, await you at Filacheck’s.

Donnell is thrilled to highlight the company’s latest line of home furnishings, Wrangler by Flexsteel. Indeed, he noted, “We’re southern Chester County’s largest dealer of Flexsteel furniture.” A tried and true family-owned company, Flexsteel has been around for over 100 years. Recently, a partnership with the Wrangler company proved to generate Series 47, a highly popular line that blends contemporary, metropolitan styles with a more relaxed trait incorporated. The intent of the partnership was to offer customers a reliable, unique line of furniture that conveys the message, “Welcome to our home.” Customers who purchase items from this line confirm that coming home after even the most hectic of days is more comforting and inviting than ever, knowing they will be able to relax in their Wrangler by Flexsteel-themed rooms.

Other highly regarded brands of furniture, rugs and accents for the home that customers are pleased to find at Filacheck’s include American Heritage, Hammary, King Hickory, Bailey Street, Cooper Classics, Wesley Allen, Philip Reinisch Company, and much more.

Donnell and his wife, Debbie, who helps run operations at the store, go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. The couple works hard to maintain a stock of the most preferred items, in response to consumer interest, and makes sure that the right professionals are available to assist customers with other needs. For example, two experienced decorators are on hand to provide consultations to customers. These professional interior decorating services are applied to the cost of customers’ purchases, a convenience that clients appreciate. What’s more, delivery persons are available as needed to transport new purchases to clients’ homes.

The name Filacheck has long been associated with excellent merchandise. John and Anna Filacheck established Filacheck’s Furniture in 1964, although it existed as a small appliance store even before that time. Originally located on Route 202 at the Delaware State Line, the company moved to its present location in 1977. Since then, folks have come to know Filacheck’s to be the place to go when starting out in a new home, or updating their home interior.

Filacheck’s hours of operation are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Appointments are also available as needed.
